Stamping on Transparency Instructions

Stamping on a transparency is a very quick, simple way to create a dramatic piece of artwork that adds a whole new dimension to your stamped creations. It is especially effective on flowers, ornaments, butterflies, bugs and other natural themes. It is important that the transparency sheet itself is thick and strong enough to remain stiff for your art stamp project.

Materials needed are:

  • Transparency Sheet
  • Art Stamp of Your Choice
  • Staz On Permanent Ink
  • Art Glitter Glue (Dries Clear)
  • Art Glitter Fine Metal Tip
  • Scissors

Technique

#1 Carefully stamp your image on the transparency with StazOn Permanent Ink. This must be allowed to dry thoroughly. (Stamp many images and let them dry thoroughly and store in envelopes so they are ready to glitter at a moments notice!)

#2 Most important! Apply Art Glitter glue on the same side of the transparency as the ink. Therefore, the artwork goes on the first and glue and glitter seal it on. The artwork remains intact and cannot be scratched off in anyway. The fine details of the artwork will show through the other side.

#3 Begin to apply the glue to an area by squeezing out a little bead of glue. STOP squeezing and spread the glue in the area of your choice with the small tip. Even the tiniest areas are easy to do. Do not keep squeezing while you spread the glue. You would risk getting too much glue on the piece and it is very hard to remove without spreading it too far. This glue dries very slowly, giving you time to fill in all areas.

#4 Sprinkle the glitter of your choice on this area of glue. Remove the excess glitter by tapping the back of the transparency. You may now add more glue right next to the first glue and glitter you have just completed. The glues will not run together as long as you do not “stir the pot”.

#5 Continue with this method until the piece is completely glittered.

#6 Allow the piece to lay flat. It will take four to six hours to dry completely. If the glitter and glue are disturbed it will clearly show on the finished piece.

#7 When the piece is thoroughly dry, carefully cut around the edges.

#8 Shake and blow off any excess glitter. The glue is very strong and the piece will shed very little glitter making it appropriate for scrap booking pages, bookmarks, etc.

#9 Holly Berry House Medallions done is this manner make beautiful sun catchers. Consider leaving open areas in the piece for the sun to shine through rather than filling in every space with glitter.

#10 Shading is most effective. Apply glue with a zigzag edge. Apply the next color of glitter by filling in that edge each time changing the glitter to a darker or lighter shade of the same color. So easy! Try it!

# 11 Small pieces of double back sticky cushion will adhere to the glitter, making it possible to attach the piece to the front of a card. These sticky pieces can be removed so that the finished piece can be pulled from a card and hung in a window. Stick magnets may also be placed on the back to create a smashing refrigerator decoration!

#12 If the piece is going to be hung, allow for this by leaving a round piece on the top edge of the transparency where you could punch a hole and run through a hanging thread, ribbon, wire or fishing line.

QUICK…EASY…AND FABULOUS! ENJOY!
