About Us

Holly Berry House, Inc., is a small, family owned corporation housed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Within our walls, a paradise of creativity, family and staff work together to create an opportunity to learn, experience and enjoy the best of the stitchery arts and the fine art of rubber stamping and paper crafts.

With over thirty years in the rubber art stamp industry, Kathryn Read has created hundreds of images, including The Amazing Medallions, The Victorian Treasure Boxes, The Mission Bells, The Bird Cottages, Standing Angels, Celtic Crosses and many others for every reason and season. At Holly Berry House Originals we feel certain you will be delighted with the uniqueness of these original design concepts. All projects are beginner level. Cutting guides are provided with your order where required, especially for the Amazing Medallions. Instructions for all projects are available on this website by clicking on “Instructions”. Enjoy the ride as you adventure through the wonders of the fine art of rubber stamping.

Intrigued by the enduring “heirloom” quality of a finely stitched, hand-painted needlepoint canvas, Kathryn Read is fully engaged in creating an original collection of designs that lend themselves to becoming treasures for the next generation. Imagine passing down your own vision of the twelve Christmas ornaments, one of a dozen charming Easter eggs, a matching set of “Medallion” cushions or a Santa and Snowman that signal the start of the Christmas holidays.

Discover a lovely collection of hand and machine applique patterns designed by Kathryn Read with today’s quilters and sewing community in mind. With a passion for color, fibers and fabric, quilts and most of all for pattern design, Kathryn is fully engaged in creating a wonderful line of images for the consummate connoisseurs of  hand and machine applique. You have an invitation to attend “The Garden Party”,  celebrate the “Apple Harvest”, relax with the “French Chickens’ or welcome autumn with the “Pudgy Pumpkins”.

In response to a renewed interest is fine decorative hand embroidery and embellishments, this new collection of patterns and kits by Kathryn Read awaits your needle and thread. If Kathryn isn’t designing a new pattern she is most likely stitching one, especially if it is an intricate embroidery with a tiny needle and a single strand of thread. Learning the magic of the embroidered stitch and the potential in a simple, wood wrapped lead pencil came about at the age of five. The two go hand-in-hand as design after design is created by Kathryn for “Simply Embroidery”.
