Description
The dragonfly spends one to five years underwater in its immature stages before spending a short but beautiful summer of life flying low over ponds and streams. It is blessed with keen vision and an uncanny ability to fly with great agility at speeds up to 35 miles per hour. The dragonfly benefits man by consuming mosquitoes, gnats and flies often in midair, as it flies about on its iridescent wings.
