Needleworks is blessed to work closely with several nationally known designers who call Colorado Springs home. Needleworks proudly displays their fine products and benefits daily by their very presence. We are pleased to introduce them to you as we are certain that you will appreciate their talents and their contributions to the world of the knitting and stitchery arts.
Cindy Webb is a fine porcelain artist. She has been involved with all of the Holly Berry House endeavors for many years. You may find her fine work at Needleworks in her large, beautiful collection of fine, hand-painted porcelain buttons. They are delightfully and wildly charming and perfect for sweaters, large and small. If you collect buttons, just for the joy of it, seeing these buttons is a must. For the collectors of fine porcelain miniatures see Cindy’s work shown in the Holly Berry House Gallery of Artisans at Needleworks.
Kathy Gaul surprises us on a regular basis with another completely charming, completely original pattern for wool applique. Each new kit is sure to charm all of those who love and appreciate classic American primitive. While you may find Kathy’s fine work in many stitching shops and shows across the country, we claim her as our own. Her dedication to this wonderful early American craft is a guarantee that it will flourish and continue to be loved and appreciated. Kathy teaches wool applique classes with the most attentive care to every detail, guaranteeing success for every student. Consider this lovely art as a wonderful addition to your stitchery skills.
Megan DeSmidt, as Needleworks very first employee, jumped on a request for a high quality, “carpet bag” type of knitting/Needlepoint bag with all of the features that would enhance the ability to travel with and store a stitchery project. What soon appeared at Needleworks was every stitchers dream of the perfect bag…large enough for every project, generous inside pockets for tools and patterns, a hand-hewn wooden handle AND a lovely, long shoulder strap. What was unexpected was the absolutely beautiful tapestry materials Megan had chosen for the bag, complimented by elegant, fine fabrics for the linings. It is no wonder that these bags now set a standard for the industry and are shown in quality stitching and knitting stores around the country…each and everyone designed and hand stitched by Megan. Yes, we are proud!
Kathryn Read has, over time, designed something for most everything in the hobby industry. With the emphasis on the “fine art of rubber stamping” for many years, she was pulled away from her greatest love…embroidery and needlepoint. With more time and a bucket list, Kathryn has turned her attention to designing for both with exciting results. You may find her stitch painted canvases at Needleworks, on-line through Dream House Ventures and at many needlepoint stores across the country. While at Needleworks, visit Kathryn’s Art and Applique collection, Simply Embroidery kits and her hundreds of art stamp images at the Holly Berry House Originals Company Store.
